Then in this case doing a shutdown may not be enough action to take because Fast Startup preserves some of the current system run state. If Fast Startup is enabled ( it's the default setting assigned by Windows-10, and installing the Fall Update re-enables it if it was previously disabled). I have now done a restart and the Security and Maintenance problem is resolved ? but the Windows Updates to WDefender problems remains. I also tried the NS, Help, get support and found no issues.
I should have included in my problem report that I did a shutdown, wait and restart.
